| Every mortgage protection
insurance policy will be different, even if only slightly, so be sure to refer
to your own policy to see what exclusions might apply to your insurance cover.
In general, however, there are only a few circumstances that are always (or nearly
always) excluded from mortgage protection insurance.
The list below represents a number of activities, situations and conditions
for which you would not typically be covered by a UK mortgage protection insurance
policy.
- Dangerous activities, including hazardous sports or occupations.
- Deliberate self-injury.
- Any medical condition of which you were previously aware before your
application for cover.
- Illness or injury caused by drug or alcohol abuse or other criminal activity.
- Some mortgage protection insurance providers will not provide policy
cover for a policyholder if they come to suffer from AIDS or an AIDS-related condition.
Be sure to check your mortgage protection insurance policy in detail or discuss
your policy exclusions with your insurer before you buy your mortgage protection
insurance.
